What a great husband you have! I had to go buy my motorcycle all by myself! Of course I called it my 45th birthday present when I did. Some great advice so far, probably the one to find a used Savage one of the best, as you may not keep this baby upright for the first few miles. I a little taller and much heavier than you, I don't know how much a V star weighs, but the belt drive on the Savage keeps the weight in a reasonable handling area. If the V Star has a shaft drive, it may seem heavier in the midsection, and harder to lean. That is the scariest part of riding to me, leaning on those curves. Also the most fun (ISn't that why we love roller coasters?) Economically, if you go ahead and get rid of the V star now , while it is still new, and extremely low mileage, you will probably get more money than later, when it is older and still low mileage if you don't ride it. I vote for the Savage. You will be able to ride it with ease and want to ride it. And apparently that is what your husband wants too, companionship on the road. And he won't get it if you are sitting at home looking at that d--- V star that feels too heavy and scary.
